Glorious flat engine sound, wonderful driving by Andrew Smith and close competition.

Interesting to see White-99's tail get a little “loose” there a couple of times. Great video.

Nice driving, i really like the slight sideway action viewed from behind.
If you still have some crave for sideway action (but of a different style) after that and have another 8:16 to spend you can watch this one (and watch their other videos if you known them yet) :

Dijon !!! I was born there. Cool track, I’ve seen some nice races out there, production cars, moto légendes ... good ol’ days

Is it a Porsche thing to be applying so much counter steer? It seems like for a regular right-hand bend, he’ll turn right once and spend the whole corner turning left.
I’ve got a mid-engined car, these things happen. But all the time?

It’s like a oversteery fwd car. Neutral throttle will let the back walk around. Gas tucks it in.
At around 2:45 you'll really see this effect. This is also an AWD car, which in most chassis means understeer.

The 911 are rear engined car (engine behind the rear axle) and not a rear mid-engined car like the Cayman for example.
It makes it easier to go sideways and control it than a read mid-engined car that has a better balance.

Interesting. And when you’re over-steering, and gas will walk the back around, and so will no gas. And steering just makes it pendulum. WHAT THEN? I guess 2:45 shows us: wild steering movements with millimeter precision, or certain death.
It just seems so wrong. It’s a circus.
If you think about, say, turbos. And how the peaky power delivery of older turbos made it slightly less predictable, less stable and less desirable for track driving.
And the idea of rev-matching in a corner to avoid any amount of traction loss at the drive wheels while taking a lower gear.
These are fine things that give relatively small benefits.
If you consider on the other hand that every 911 ever built wants to spin at pretty much any input. It sounds bloody awful. I’m sure it’s great fun, but hugely undesirable to go fast.

I think it's both terrifying and exhilarating. Small amounts of gas will tighten up the line and not rotate it.

I think a mid-engined car provides a similar thing but less so, getting the weight to the rear wheels helps it stick . MR2s are known for being a handful (bah) but nothing on that level.

A rear
mid-engined car at the limit
will be more on a fine line between under and oversteer.

Haha, because the rear engined car’s limit is pretty much any speed, any corner!

Could have been lifted directly from Goodwood, but this curiously ended up on the FP this morning.
I’m going with OppoLifted.
I watched it yesterday on my PC, going to watch again on my TV later.
